"Its Friday, But Sunday's a Coming!" (see "taps" video)

Congratulations, its Friday! The Memorial Day weekend is here and I hope you are looking forward to worshipping Sunday at your home church.

This is "Rescue Mission" weekend at Kings Point. John Bauer and his team do a wonderful job of ministering to as many as one hundred plus homeless men and women downtown Cincinnati every fourth Saturday morning of the month. Come on out and join them. They will leave from the church at 4:45 am Saturday. It will make your weekend!

You will not want to miss our video tribute Sunday morning to our brave soldiers who have sacrificed for our freedom. Provided below is a sneak preview. I warn you now, it's a tearjerker!

Please don't forget to remember and pray for our soldiers this Memorial Day weekend. All of you KPers know I don't talk politics in the pulpit, but I am thankful that we have a military and a President that doesn't "run from a fight with its tail between its legs." We have the most courageous and devoted military in the world, I truly believe that. I am so proud of our military and their families. I really doubt if we know even a little of all the great things our military has accomplished in the war in Iraq and the millions of lives that are better off. I encourage you as Christians to not let the media or the negative politicians think and speak for you...find out for yourself all the good that is going on in the war of Iraq and lets pray constantly for the young men and women that are keeping us free through their sacrifice and dedication!

I am excited to have my brother and his family with us this weekend. Tom has done a wonderful job leading the Grant County Rescue Mission in Marion, Indiana. This is a mission that houses both homeless men and women in separate facilities. Along with housing, they provide food, clothing, jobs, and ministry. Tom's job as the Director demands that he represents the ministry through public relations with area businesses, colleges and universities, as well as local and state government agencies. Aside from all of this, he and his family have planted a new church downtown Marion that focuses on ministry to the poor and needy. The church is already ministering to over one hundred people every weekend.

Tom and Debbie's daughter, Vanessa, will be sharing a little about her upcoming mission trip to Thialand where she will spend most of her summer doing ministry. We will be receiving an offering to assist her in her expenses. She is a recent high school graduate who has a great passion for missions. Annette and I are very proud of her and her sister, Cassandra. They are both outstanding servants of God!

Hey, its going to be a great weekend! I hope you get some rest, a little recreation, and those little jobs around the house done. If you are traveling, please be careful and "watch and pray" for gas under #4.00 a gallon.

In His Love,

Pastor Randy
