Sunday Wrap Up

Good Lord's day! It feels good to have normal services without any kind of special service. I like special services but it just feels good to come together and worship and preach the word. Honestly, every Sunday there are multiple meetings, sermons, a Sunday School lesson, and when you add lots of announcements along with a special promotional...its a lot to pack into two two-hour services. My main concern is that all of this does not take away from the altar services. We can't afford to squeeze the Holy Spirit out. We must give Him opportunity to minister in and to Christ's church.

Tonight's prayer service in the sanctuary was great. I am hearing that more and more churches are going to prayer services on Sunday night. Jesus said He wanted His house to be called a "house of prayer." I really do believe we don't pray enough during worship services. Oh, we praise and thank God, but there is a lack of confession, intercession, and petitioning in most churches services. What if the one-hundred twenty would have come together and just had one preaching service after another instead of tarrying for the Holy Ghost? I personally think there would not have been a upper room outpouring. I think that there are very few Holy Ghost outpourings today because we are so conditioned to a song service, offering, and preaching. We don't give the Holy Spirit opportunity to minister to God's people. To tarry means "to wait." You don't see much of that in modern day worship services. People get nervous, fidgety when they have to wait in a worship service. Leadership thinks they have to make something happen. That silence or waiting is a waste of time.

Well, anyway, we got a lot done in the spiritual realm tonight because of the different kinds of prayers that were offered up tonight. Some day heaven will reveal the awesome works that are done in such services.

Have a wonderful week!
