Sunday Wrap Up - the powerful story of Polycarp's Death

Great day yesterday! We just got back from spending Memorial Day with my brother and his family. We had a wonderful time. It was a quick trip, but a safe and happy one! Yesterday's morning service was a genuine call to the church to be ready for the the days ahead and the coming of Christ. The conviction of the Holy Spirit was stronger than I have felt for sometime. God help us as your people draw close to you!

Last night service was good. Its so sad to me that God's people put a holiday weekend celebration before coming to His house on the Sabbath day. The church has truly compromised over the last few decades when it comes to our worship on Sundays or giving Him a Sabbath. It used to be the one holy (set apart) day that we would give God. Now many Christians barely give Him a hour or two on His day. Forget me, I sincerley believe its grieves God. His Word tells us that in these "last days" we should be coming together more, not less. God revive us...your church!

Read below about the commitment to Christ that we see in the life of Polycarp. Where is our commitment to Christ as pastors and as His people in these last days?

Polycarp (2nd Century)-

Can you imagine what it was like for the church in Smyrna as they watched their beloved and aged pastor burn at the stake? Polycarp was his name. he was a disciple of Jesus’ disciple, the Apostle John. One could tell it immediately because he possessed the same tenderness and compassion as his mentor.

Polycarp was Bishop of the church at Smyrna (present day Turkey). Persecution broke out in Smyrna and many Christians were fed to the wild beasts in the arena. The godless and bloodthirsty crowd called for the carcass of the leader – Polycarp.

The authorities sent a search party to find him. He had been taken into hiding for some Christians but the Romans tortured two young believers until they finally disclosed his location. When the authorities arrival was announced there was still time to whisk Polycarp away but he refused to go saying, “God’s will be done.”

In one of the most touching instances of Christian grace imaginable Polycarp welcome his captors as if they were friends. He talked with them and insisted they eat a meal. Ha made only one request before being taken away – he asked for one hour to pray. The Roman soldiers listened to his prayer. Their hearts melted and they gave him 2 hours to pray. They had second thoughts as well and were overheard asking each other why they were sent to arrest him?

Other authorities also experienced a warmed heart when Polycarp arrived. The Proconsul tried to find a way to release him too. “curse God and I will let you go!” he pleaded.

Polycarp’s reply was: “For eighty-six years I have served him. He has never done me wrong. How then can I blaspheme my King was has saved me?”

The Proconsul again looked for a way out. “The do this old man, just swear by the spirit of the emperor and that will be sufficient.’

Polycarp’s reply was: “If you imagine for a moment that I would do that, then I think you pretend that you don’t know who I am. Hear it plainly. I am a Christian.”

More entreaties by the Proconsul

Polycarp stood firm.

The proconsul threatened with the wild beasts.

Polycarp’s reply was: “Bring them forth. I would change my mind if it meant going from worst to best, but not to change from right to wrong.”

The Proconsul threatened, “I will burn you alive!”

Polycarp’s reply was: “You threaten with fire that burns for an hour and is over but the judgment on the ungodly is forever.”

The fires engulfed him. The witnesses noticed his faith and joy. He was finished off with a dagger. He was buried for the cause of Christ on February 22, 155 A.D.

It was as much a day of victory as it was a day of tragedy.

Polycarp illustrated the power of knowing Jesus intimately. Intimately enough to follow Him into the flames. As Jesus said, “What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?”

Crash Course on the Arab-Israeli Conflict - Important Facts Christians Need to Know

Benjamin Netanyahu is interviewed by British Television during the retaliation against Hamas' shelling of Israel.

The interviewer asked him: "How come so many more Palestinians have been killed in this conflict than Israelis?" (A nasty question if there ever was one)

Netanyahu: "Are you sure that you want to start asking in that direction?

Interviewer: (Falling into the trap) Why not?

Netanyahu: "Because in World War II more Germans were killed than British and Americans combined, but there is no doubt in anyone's mind that the war was caused by Germany 's aggression.
And in response to the German blitz on London , the British wiped out the entire city of Dresden , burning to death more German civilians than the number of people killed in Hiroshima ...
Moreover, I could remind you that in 1944, when the R.A.F. tried to bomb the Gestapo Headquarters in Copenhagen , some of the bombs missed their target and fell on a Danish children's hospital, killing 83 little children. Perhaps you have another question?"

Apparently, Benjamin Netanyahu gave another interview and was asked about Israel 's occupation of Arab lands. His response was, "It's our land".
The reporter (CNN or the like) was stunned - read below. It's important information since we don't get fair and accurate reporting from the media and facts tend to get lost in the jumble of daily events.

"Crash Course on the Arab-Israeli Conflict."

Here are overlooked facts in the current & past Middle East situation. These were compiled by a Christian university professor:

BRIEF FACTS ON THE ISRAELI CONFLICT TODAY... (It takes just 1.5 minutes to read!)

It makes sense and it's not slanted. Jew and non-Jew -- it doesn't matter.

1. Nationhood and Jerusalem : Israel became a nation in 1312 BC, two thousand (2000) years before the rise of Islam.... Arab refugees in Israel began identifying themselves as part of a Palestinian people in 1967, two decades after the establishment of the modern State of Israel..

2.Since the Jewish conquest in 1272 BC, the Jews have had dominion over the land for one thousand (1000) years with a continuous presence in the land for the past 3,300 years.

3. The only Arab dominion since the conquest in 635 lasted no more than 22 years.

4. For over 3,300 years, Jerusalem has been the Jewish capital. Jerusalem has never been the capital of any Arab or Muslim entity. Even when the Jordanians occupied Jerusalem , they never sought to make it their capital, and Arab leaders
did not come to visit.

5. Jerusalem is mentioned over 700 times in Tanach, the Jewish Holy scriptures. Jerusalem is not mentioned even once in the Koran.

6. King David founded the city of Jerusalem. Mohammed never came to Jerusalem.

7. Jews pray facing Jerusalem. Muslims pray with their backs toward Jerusalem.

8. Arab and Jewish Refugees: In 1948 the Arab refugees were encouraged to leave Israel by Arab leaders promising to purge the land of Jews. Sixty-eight percent left (many in fear of retaliation by their own brethren, the Arabs), without ever seeing an Israeli soldier. The ones who stayed were afforded the same peace, civility, and citizenship rights as everyone else.

9. The Jewish refugees were forced to flee from Arab lands due to Arab brutality, persecution and pogroms.

10. The number of Arab refugees who left Israel in 1948 is estimated to be around 630,000. The number of Jewish refugees from Arab lands is estimated to be the same.

11. Arab refugees were INTENTIONALLY not absorbed or integrated into the Arab lands to which they fled, despite the vast Arab territory. Out of the 100,000,000 refugees since World War II, theirs is the only refugee group in the world that has never been absorbed or integrated into their own people's lands. Jewish refugees were completely absorbed into Israel , a country no larger than the state of New Jersey ...

12. The Arab-Israeli Conflict: the Arabs are represented by eight separate nations, not including the Palestinians. There is only one Jewish nation. The Arab nations initiated all five wars and lost. Israel defended itself each time and won.

13. The PLO's Charter still calls for the destruction of the State of Israel . Israel has given the Palestinians most of the West Bank land, autonomy under the
Palestinian Authority, and has supplied them.

14. Under Jordanian rule, Jewish holy sites were desecrated and the Jews were denied access to places of worship. Under Israeli rule, all Muslim and Christian sites have been preserved and made accessible to people of all faiths.

15. The UN Record on Israel and the Arabs: of the 175 Security Council resolutions passed before 1990, 97 were directed against Israel.

16. Of the 690 General Assembly resolutions voted on before 1990, 429 were directed against Israel.

17. The UN was silent while 58 Jerusalem
synagogues were destroyed by the Jordanians.

18. The UN was silent while the Jordanians systematically desecrated the ancient Jewish cemetery on the Mount of Olives.

19. The UN was silent while the Jordanians enforced an apartheid-like a policy of preventing Jews from visiting the Temple Mount and the Western Wall.

How to Prepare for Battle Daily

Daily I try to pray the following prayer. I put on the whole armor of God and prepare myself for the spiritual warfare that lies ahead. I have done this for over 25 years. It makes a great difference in my life. I encourage you to do it if you aren't already doing so. The following prayer is taken from Ephesians 6:10-20.

Lord, I am strong in you today and in your mighty power. I put on all of the armor of God so that I will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For I know my battles are not against people, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

Therefore, Father, I put on every piece of your armor so I will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle I will still be standing firm. I stand my ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God's righteousness. I put on shoes which is the peace that comes from the Good News so that I will be fully prepared. In addition, I hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. I put on salvation as my helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Lord, I pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Staying alert and I will be persistent in my prayers today for all believers everywhere. God give me the right words so I can boldly explain the Good News today as your Spirit leads me. Amen.

Have a great Thursday!

How to Develop Discretion

I Chr. 22:11-13 "Now, my son, the LORD be with you, and may you have success and build the house of the LORD your God, as he said you would. May the LORD give you discretion and understanding when he puts you in command over Israel, so that you may keep the law of the LORD your God. Then you will have success if you are careful to observe the decrees and laws that the LORD gave Moses for Israel. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged."

Proverbs 2:11 says "Discretion will guard over you. Understanding will keep you."

There are various definitions for discretion. But I like this one: "the ability or power to decide responsibly." Some people think that discretion is something you are either born with or not. I don't believe that. Daniel learned discretion. I believe Daniel's discretion came from his learning and meditation of the law of God and his prayer life. If it worked for Daniel over 2500 years ago, it still works today. You and I can learn and develop discretion.

Here are a few tips for developing discretion.

1. IT STARTS WITH THE SMALL THINGS - Like knowing when to speak and knowing when not to speak. Knowing how to make good decisions. Knowing who to associate with and who not to hang out with. How do we know these things? I think it starts at a early age with parents teaching and modeling these kinds of things. Daniel had such parents who took him to hear King Josiah as he expounded on the law of God to those in Israel before the captivity would come some fifteen years later for Daniel.

2. PRAY WITHOUT CEASING - and the Holy Spirit who leads us and teaches us all things as disciples of Christ will teach you discretion. I'm not kidding. Daniel prayed three times daily. One of the Apostle Paul's commands by the Spirit is to "pray always." You walk with him daily. You let the Spirit control your life. You will have discretion...no matter your past.

3. THE WORD OF GOD - will teach you discretion. Reading, studying, and meditating on God's Word will develop discretion in you through the Holy Spirit. He will put truth in your inward parts.

Let discretion guard over you this week!

Sunday Wrap Up

Wow, great services today on Pentecost Sunday. This morning's service was wonderful. The church came to the altar and sought the gift of the Holy Ghost this morning. The presence of God was awesome in both services today. Tonight's praise and worship was great. It must of lasted about an hour but it didn't seem like it. Chris Music's message was right on. Great word!

Special thanks to the youth ministry tonight for putting together the after glow for Corina and Mark. They are truly worth of it and so much more! We love Corina and Mark and appreciate all they do for the youth ministry. So much food. Thanks to all the parents who really "brought their A game tonight (the food...lots of it)."

Hey everyone have a great week! Please try to attend a cell meeting. The study in 1Corinthians has been great.

Countdown to Sunday...a word of encouragement until then!

I haven't done this in awhile...countdown to Sunday. Today, of course, is Friday. How's your week been? I know some of you are ready for the week to come to an end. You're looking forward to a welcome break I'm sure and no doubt you need it.

Times are tough for people everywhere these days, especially for the people of God. The enemy is trying God's people like never before. He knows God's plan to rescue (or rapture) up his people...remember he knows what the bible says, better than most churchgoers. He's taking his best shots at the people of God now knowing that we won't be around much longer. You would think he would be content knowing he's going to reek havoc on the whole world after God's people are gone. But remember he absolutely hates the people of God. Look at what he did to the Jews during the holacost. Look at the persecution of God's people (Christians) down through history. Again, he knows he has little time left. The time of "Jacob's trouble" (also known as the Tribulation period) will go by quickly for him. Jesus comes and sets up his kingdom here on earth and he is thrown into hell for nearly a thousand years. Thats not my opinion, thats what the Bible says.

So lets remember the big picture. Don't be so much in love with this world that as you see things fall a part it grieves you. Don't try to prevent it from happening. God's will will be fulfilled. Look up, your redemption draws nigh. In others words, keep your mind on those things above. On those things God has planned for you. You belong to him. You are his child...a citizen of heaven. He put His Spirit in you to carry you through these times. Hold on to Christ. Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. We are overcomers as we move, live, and have our being in Christ Jesus.

Come Sunday desperate to worship your God. I promise He will meet you there and do some great in you!

Humility - "I think less of myself so I can think more of others"

Poet, journalist, and editor Alan Ross asserted, "Humility means knowing and using your strengths for the benefit of others, on behalf of a higher purpose." The humble leader is not weak, but strong...he is not pre-occupied with self, but with how best to use his or her strengths for the good of others. Humble leaders bring out the best in others. There focus is on your purpose, your contribution, and your ability to accomplish all that you desire to accomplish. What a great perspective! False humility downplays one's genuine strengths to receive praise. Arrogance plays up to one's strength to receive praise. Humility raises up others so they can be praised.

So how do you practice this kind of humility in how you treat others? Try this advice from Pastor Rick Warren:

1. Admit your weaknesses
2. Be patient with others' weaknesses
3. Be open to correction
4. Pointing the spotlight to others

Do these things and people will relate to you and listen to what you have to say.

Go after it!

Governor Huckabee's Speech Today

This morning God threw me into a situation that was pretty cool. I was asked by Pastor Larry Stocksdale of Bethany in Baton Rouge to meet him at the downtown Hilton in Cincinnati. He had been asked to speak this morning at the Ohio Renewal Pastor's Conference which featured such notables as Rod Parsley, David Barton, Karen Hughes (former secretary to President Bush), Bob McEwen (a congressman), Rob Portman, Anthony Munoz, and former Governor Huckabee from Arkansas. Since I am his Remnant Director for Ohio he introduced me to the group and I was honored to sit at the head table with these that I mentioned and others. Believe me, I felt pretty small among these men and women of such great stature. Anyway, I was really blessed to hear David Barton, Pastor Stocksdale, and finally Governor Huckabee while I was there today.

Governor Huckabee's message was very encouraging. One that I think Christians need to hear everywhere. As many of you know, he is a former Baptist preacher. The Governor mentioned that everywhere he goes now days Christians seem to be worried and upset about what's happening in America. He said he hoped America's best days were still ahead of her but he reminded us of a few things:

1. God sovereignly raised this nation up and put it on her path to greatness. God can do it again if He so chooses. We need to look to Him, not man.

2. The key for America's future is not in congress, or the White House, or on Wall Street, but in America's pulpits. America's men of God must preach the truth with integrity that sets people free.

3. Whether our days are many or few as a nation, we must remember that we have dual citizenship. If things don't work out for us, we have a future in heaven. Governor Huckabee said that when he was governor in Arkansas, Arkansas University had a good basketball team in the nineties. He would often tape the game and watch it late at night if they won. He said if they lost he wouldn't watch it. But when they won he would stay up, eat his munchies, and enjoy the game knowing the outcome already. Governor Huckabee reminded us that as Christians we know "we win in the end. So sit back and relax and let God fulfill His word." Amen! Good word!

Make it a great Wednesday!

Groped God?

by David Wilkerson

While Jesus was on the highest point of the temple, Satan whispered: "Come on - jump! Are you really the Son of God, he will save you. "

"If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, it is written:" He will command his angels concerning you, and they take you on their hands, why not hit with your foot on a stone " (Matthew 4:6).

You see the cunning of Satan in all this? Has isolated a promise from scriptural context - leading them to Jesus and tried to depend on his life by it. It was as if to suggest: "You say that God is with you. Well, show me. Your Father has already given me permission to torment. Where its presence in all this? You can prove that he is with you making a big jump. If God is with you, you will land on the soft. Then you can be sure he is truly with you. Otherwise it is better to die than to live only for yourself. You need a miracle to prove that the Father is with you. "

How Jesus responded? He said: "He also wrote" I groped the Lord thy God "" (Matt 4:7). What did Jesus say exactly what "groped God"?

Ancient Israel proves this. Ten times the Lord had proved faithful to the Israelites. The people of God had received a tangible proof that the Lord was with them. Yet each time, the people put the same question: "God is among us, yes or no?". God calls this attitude a "temptation" of her. Jesus uses this same phrase - "groped God" - in his response to Satan. What say? Shows that there is a grave sin to doubt God's presence, we must ask whether it is with us or not.

As with Israel, God has already shown enough. First, we have thousands of promises in his word that we speak of his contact with us. Second, we have our own personal history with God - a testimony of his many past releases to us. Third, we have a Bible full of witnesses to attest the presence of God in past centuries.

The Bible is clear: we must walk with God by faith and not by sight. Otherwise, we will end up as Israel was unfaithful.

Sunday Wrap Up

Good Lord's day! It feels good to have normal services without any kind of special service. I like special services but it just feels good to come together and worship and preach the word. Honestly, every Sunday there are multiple meetings, sermons, a Sunday School lesson, and when you add lots of announcements along with a special promotional...its a lot to pack into two two-hour services. My main concern is that all of this does not take away from the altar services. We can't afford to squeeze the Holy Spirit out. We must give Him opportunity to minister in and to Christ's church.

Tonight's prayer service in the sanctuary was great. I am hearing that more and more churches are going to prayer services on Sunday night. Jesus said He wanted His house to be called a "house of prayer." I really do believe we don't pray enough during worship services. Oh, we praise and thank God, but there is a lack of confession, intercession, and petitioning in most churches services. What if the one-hundred twenty would have come together and just had one preaching service after another instead of tarrying for the Holy Ghost? I personally think there would not have been a upper room outpouring. I think that there are very few Holy Ghost outpourings today because we are so conditioned to a song service, offering, and preaching. We don't give the Holy Spirit opportunity to minister to God's people. To tarry means "to wait." You don't see much of that in modern day worship services. People get nervous, fidgety when they have to wait in a worship service. Leadership thinks they have to make something happen. That silence or waiting is a waste of time.

Well, anyway, we got a lot done in the spiritual realm tonight because of the different kinds of prayers that were offered up tonight. Some day heaven will reveal the awesome works that are done in such services.

Have a wonderful week!

Some Thoughts on Americans' No. 1 Fear

Public speaking is listed as Americans number-one fear, before death at number five, and loneliness at number seven. Why is that? Here are some reasons.

#1 - By its very nature, a public speaker must stand above the crowd. Most people like to be blend in with the crowd.

#2 - It includes the fear of being seen as exceptional and different. Again, most people don't want to stand out. Its not cool! The public today wants to be mainstream; normal. To take it a little further, most people want to have the right to judge, not to feel like their being judged.

#3 - The fear of the unknown.

#4 - The fear of being a fraud...of not practicing what you preach or living up to our message.

#5 - The fear of forgetting what you are going to say.

#6 - The fear of being at risk publicly.

#7 - The fear of being up there alone.

All of these come together, for most of us, in public speaking.

Have a great Friday!

Six of your Thirty-Five Thousand for Today

According to experts, we are bombarded with thirty-five thousand messages a day. Hopefully, these six quotes will cause you to be more effective today.

The Grave Sin of Doubting God's Presence

While Jesus was standing on the highest point of the temple, Satan whispered, "Do it - Jump! If you are truly the Son of God, he will save you.

"And I said, If thou be the Son of God, throw yourself down, it is written, shall give his angels charge over you, and you hold in your hands lest you dash your foot against a stone" (Matthew 4:6).

Do you see the subtlety of Satan bent on this? The isolated a promise of Scripture - and tempted Jesus to throw his life on this. He was suggesting, "You say that God is with you. Well, show me the proof. Your Father has already allowed to bother you. Where is their presence in that? You can prove that he is with you if you rush down. If God is with you, he will provide you not hurt when he fell. Then you base your confidence in that. If not, then it is better to die, instead of wondering if you live alone. You need a miracle to prove that the Father is with you. "

How did Jesus respond? He stated, "It is written: 'Do not tempt the Lord thy God'" (Matthew 4:7). What exactly did Jesus mean here referring to "tempt God?"

Ancient Israel is an example. Ten times the Lord had proven his loyalty to the Israelites. The people of God was visible proof that their Lord was with them. Yet, increasingly, the people wondered the same thing: "Is God among us or not?" God calls this "tempting him." Jesus uses the same phrase - "tempting God" - in his response to Satan. What does this tell us? Shows that it is a grave sin to doubt God's presence, we must not question whether he is with us.

As with Israel, God has given us an entire body of evidence. First, we have many promises in his word of his presence with us. Second, we have our personal history with God - a testimony to the many times he has rescued us. Third, we have a Bible full of witnesses to the presence of God for centuries.

The Bible is clear: Our walk with God is by faith and not by sight. Otherwise, you end up like Israel without faith.

Sunday Wrap Up

Well, it was a short Sunday for us at KP. We only had the one service. But it was a good one. Not all worship services are going to be the same. Why? Because people's needs are not always the same from service to service. When Jesus walked the earth and ministered to people his meetings were about the responses to the needs of the people. Sometimes he healed people. Sometimes he shared the word. Sometimes he casts out devils. Sometimes he rebuked the disciples and other times the Pharisees. Sometimes he prayed.

As I preached this morning, the church desperately needs intercessors like Rizpah. Intercessors that won't back down or give up in prayer, fasting, and battling the enemy. Intercessors who won't let the enemy take down the souls of our youth. The world no doubt thought Rizpah was crazy. But she got the attention of the king and you will too when you aggressively persevere in prayer and fasting. A lot of Christians today talk and read about spiritual warfare but don't have any idea in how to do battle against the enemy. Rizpah is a great example of what it takes to be a overcomer. Her steel determination and untiring perseverance is what is needed today in the church of Jesus Christ.

Have a wonderful week!

Greece...a glimpse of the future for the U.S.?

Good morning! With the crazy up and down stock market and the economic chaos that is beginning to take place around the world, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the world is uncharted waters. I heard a economic expert who has been called Dr. Doom predict recently that by the end of 2010 the U.S. could begin to experience what Greece is now experiencing. He said the Greece problem is minimal compared to what the U.S. economic collapse may look like. Greece's indebtedness is only ten per cent of their GNP (Gross National Product). Have you seen recently what percentage of our debt (how much the government owes) makes up our GNP (is the market value of all of the products and services that a country produces in one year)? Try 61.8 per cent and growing. Of course, it could be much worse. Japan's is 170 per cent and Italy's is 103 per cent.

So in other words, the potential for a global economic collapse is certainly a reality when you consider that practically all of the countries in the world are in debt up to their noses and higher. Have you ever wondered what's going to happen in the world with all of this debt? The bible tells us. That's right, once again the bible has the answers. Revelation 6 tells us where all this is headed and then the book of Revelation goes on and tells a lot more stuff that you may not want to read.
Here's just a short sampling of Revelation 6.

3 When the Lamb broke the second seal, I heard the second living being say, "Come!" 4 Then another horse appeared, a red one. Its rider was given a mighty sword and the authority to take peace from the earth. And there was war and slaughter everywhere.5 When the Lamb broke the third seal, I heard the third living being say, "Come!" I looked up and saw a black horse, and its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. 6 And I heard a voice from among the four living beings say, "A loaf of wheat bread or three loaves of barley will cost a day's pay. And don't waste the olive oil and wine."7 When the Lamb broke the fourth seal, I heard the fourth living being say, "Come!" 8 I looked up and saw a horse whose color was pale green. Its rider was named Death, and his companion was the Grave. These two were given authority over one-fourth of the earth, to kill with the sword and famine and disease and wild animals. [New Living Translation]

You say, I would rather not believe that. Yeah me too, but its God's Word. The bible has an unbelievable track record. It will happen. Its beginning to happen. But I have great news for you...there is hope. Jesus Christ went to the cross and died for your sins and was resurrected on the third day. The bible says that one day Jesus is coming back again in Acts 1:9-11" After saying this, he was taken up into a cloud while they were watching, and they could no longer see him.As they strained to see him rising into heaven, two white-robed men suddenly stood among them. "Men of Galilee," they said, "why are you standing here staring into heaven? Jesus has been taken from you into heaven, but someday he will return from heaven in the same way you saw him go!"

Why is he coming back? The bible tells us to "catch up" or rapture, or even rescue His people (those that have received Him as Savior and Lord)from these terrible things that are coming upon the earth in the book of Revelation.

The question is are your ready for Jesus' return to rapture up His people? I pray that you are. You can be ready by just praying the following prayer. Pray it today. Ask Christ to save you today. Believe me, believe God's Word, things are going to get a lot worse. Mr Obama does not have the answers. No one does. Turn to Christ today. He is the answer.

Dear Jesus, the bible says your word is near me, even in my mouth and in my heart, the word for my salvation by faith. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord, and I believe in my heart that God raised you from the dead and that you are alive. So with my heart I believe and with my mouth I confess that I am sinner and I ask that you forgive me and save me. Your word says that "whoever believes in You Jesus will not be disappointed." Thank you Jesus for saving me today. Thank you Jesus for coming one day and taking me with you to heaven and giving me eternal life." [words taken from Romans 10:8-12].

If you prayed this prayer, please join us at church this Sunday at Kings Point. Please come and let me know that you received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. God bless you and welcome to the kingdom of God!

Despite Controversies, National Day of Prayer Proceeds

FOXNews.com

As observers celebrate the National Day of Prayer Thursday, a recent court ruling and Army decision to revoke an invitation to evangelist Franklin Graham has shrouded in controversy a day meant for reflection and prayer.

As observers celebrate the National Day of Prayer Thursday, a recent court ruling and Army decision to revoke an invitation to evangelist Franklin Graham has shrouded in controversy a day meant for reflection and prayer.

Graham, honorary chairman of the 2010 National Day of Prayer Task Force, said he is going to stand outside the Pentagon anyway on Thursday, despite the decision to rescind his invitation to participate amid complaints about his describing Islam as an evil religion..

"I don't have to be invited to a prayer service to pray for the men and women who serve this nation, who I'm so proud (of)," he told Fox News on Wednesday night. "I want them to know that I support them."

Religious leaders and government officials are holding events Thursday to mark the 59th observance of the day, including capping off a marathon Bible reading in Washington, D.C., that began Wednesday.

The event, created in 1952 and signed into law by President Harry Truman, was amended in 1988 by President Ronald Reagan to state that the day would be observed on the first Thursday in May. Organizers cite the day of prayer's origins to 1775 when the Continental Congress encouraged the colonies to pray for wisdom in forming a nation.

President Obama issued a proclamation last Friday as his Justice Department appeals a federal judge's ruling last month that the day of prayer is unconstitutional.

"Prayer has been a sustaining way for many Americans of diverse faiths to express their most cherished beliefs, and thus we have long deemed it fitting and proper to publicly recognize the importance of prayer on this day across the Nation," Obama said in the proclamation.

The lawsuit challenging the day of prayer was brought by the Freedom From Religious Foundation, a Madison, Wis.-based group of atheists and agnostics. Protests were expected there and in Washington.

The lawsuit was originally filed against President George W. Bush's administration near the end of his second term. The foundation argued the day violates the separation of church and state.

Some religious groups agree with the foundation's claim. K. Hollyn Hollman, general counsel of the Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty, said every day should be a day of prayer, but the official designation and the president's proclamation are "misguided and unnecessary."

"A day of prayer is more appropriately called for by our religious leaders - not civil magistrates, Congress or even the president," Hollman said in a statement issued Wednesday. "There is nothing wrong with the American people getting together to pray on a designated day, even public officials. ... The problem with the National Day of Prayer is that it is an official act of the government urging citizens to engage in a religious exercise."

Expecting her ruling to be challenged, U.S. District Judge Barbara Crabb said in her decision last month that the National Day of Prayer can continue until the legal process is exhausted.

Graham said he is grateful that the Justice Department is appealing the ruling. He added that he has twice been to the Pentagon since Sept. 11, 2001, and preaches to military chaplains.

"It's just unfortunate that this decision was made by the Pentagon. The Muslims have their holidays that they celebrate at the Pentagon. They celebrated Ramadan. They have prayer services there. But for us Christians to have prayer services, and for them to object and for the Army to give in to their objections is something that I just don't understand," Graham said, adding that he and Muslims will never agree on the path to God.

The Army's decision to withdraw its invitation is still catching flak. Thirty-six members of the House sent a letter to Defense Secretary Robert Gates urging him to reconsider the military's decision.

"To rescind Franklin Graham's invitation for these overtly political reasons is a disgrace that is obviously being done to placate a few outspoken critics, and an affront to those ideals that are the essence of America and that are reflected throughout America's history," said Rep. Trent Franks, R-Ariz.

"Not everyone will agree with all that Rev. Graham has to say," Rep. Mike Pence, chairman of the House Republican Conference, said. "But we can agree that our Constitution protects his right to say what he believes."

Revival Services End, But Revival Goes On!

Super revival services! Thanks everyone that came out faithfully to the services. With work schedules and kids in school, I know its an effort. But the crowds and offerings were pretty good. Like always, Jimmy Russell, did an excellent job of preaching and ministering. Brother Jimmy is a godly man who God uses to be a blessing to His people. I really appreciate you receiving his ministry.

The revival ended last night with water baptisms and testimonies. We had several testimonies of healing and anwered prayers. Also, God did an awesome job through in our youth who occupied the front pews of the revival every service. Great job kids!

Please remember the Brumfield family today. I'll be headed to the funeral services in Marion. Also, please continue to remember Mike Kilburn's mother in your prayers as well as the Hacker family and Paulette.

Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Monday Revival Report

Another great service tonight. Wow, is it ever fun watching people get blessed. I feel sorry for Christians who attend churches where they don't see that happen. And even blesses you when you see others be blessed. Its a blessing to see people experience the joy of the Lord. To watch brothers and sisters receive victory in their lives.

Tomorrow night is our final night. I know its election day tomorrow and some will be working the polls. But please come out and join us. We will be concluding the revival series with a water baptism. Come prepared for an outpouring!

Sunday Wrap Up

Greetings Everyone! Since I didn't do the Sunday Wrap Up last week. Let me thank Ron Thomas and Mike Amburgy for ministering last Sunday. Both did an excellent job. From what I understand one service were different from the other. But people were saved, filled with the Holy Spirit, healed, and blessed in each.

The revival continued on today as God moved mightily in both services. Again, anointed messages from our Evangelist, Jimmy Russell, and powerful altar services. It was great seeing our youth so involved in both services today. Please join us tomorrow night. Bring someone with you. Ask people to come who need and want a touch from God. I know that God will meet with us tonight and great things He will do in our midst. See you Monday night at 7 pm.
